Just three seasons ago, the school was buzzing with the news of obtaining one of the region’s fastest and strongest softball pitchers. And she was a freshman. A couple of GSSC titles later, the team still has yet to advance to regionals. But with starting pitcher Vanessa Hartzell back for her senior season, the outlook looks bright for a team thirsty to win the sectional championship. In addition to Hartzell, seniors Elena Palomo, Rachel Williamson, and Ashley Haltek and sophomore catcher transfer Monica Martin are prepared to go far.
“We are really working hard to make this a memorable season”, Palomo said.
Since the beginning of the season the girls have put forth non stop dedication and energy toward the team. Vanessa Hartzell, MVP last season, plans to continue to lead the team with her impressive pitching.
“We are working together really well so far, so this is going to be a good season for us,” Hartzell said.
