Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare is located in Villa Park, Illinois. It opened September 26th, and is open until November 1st. The haunted houses’ hours are Thursdays and Sundays 7:00pm-10:00pm. On Fridays and Saturdays 7:00pm-12:00am. General admission is $30 at the door, and VIP passes are between $45-$60. VIP includes a t-shirt and a fast pass through the line. There’s three haunts on the location, Haunt of 1,000 Corpses, Lord of Salem, and Rob Zombie’s The Haunted World of El Superbeast in 3D. If you’ve seen any of Rob Zombie’s horror movies such as; all the Halloween movies, The Devils Rejects, or Slither, then more or less you’d enjoy the haunted house. Most of the rooms and houses are based off of most of his movies, the names of the main houses kind of give that away. Overall, the houses weren’t that bad. They were better than most of the haunted houses I’ve visited in the previous years. I would give it a ⅘.
Fear City is located in Morton Grove, Illinois. It’s open on Friday and Saturday from 7:00pm-12:00am, including Halloween night, and November 1st. On Sundays it’s open from 7:00pm-11:00pm. On Mondays and Tuesdays the house has Battle Royale Lazer Tag from 7:00pm-11:00pm. Tickets are $35 for Fear City and Our Lady of the Cursed. Separately, Fear City is $25 and Our Lady of the Cursed is $20. Although the haunted house had a nice appeal, it wasn’t as scary as it was led to be. It was one of the most creative houses I’ve been to, but the actors didn’t do a great job at scaring those around me. I’d give it a 3/5.
