Simple. Faster. Thinner. The new iPhone 5 brought a lot to the table. Apple
finally implemented improvements that the fans had been demanding for
years. A larger screen, 4G LTE, increased battery life, and many more features. It is available in America on Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon and in the staple colors black and white. This iPhone brings all of the features that fans have been yearning for.
Right out of the box you notice the larger screen and the weight of the phone. The screen is now half an inch longer, allowing the phone to play full HD videos. With this larger screen you can view more on web pages, it adds an additional row of apps, and there is more space above the keyboard allowing you to see more while you are typing. The iPhone 5 is 18% lighter than the previous iPhone 4s. Typically when a phone is light, it is made out of plastic and feels cheap. This is the exact opposite of the iPhone 5, it is made out of aluminum and feels very sturdy like it is not going to snap in half.

My most favorite feature of the new iPhone is the A6 processor. It loads up
apps, web pages, everything instantly. Fans have been demanding a faster
processor in the iPhone and Apple has came through this time. The A6 processor runs up to twice as fast as the previous A5 processor, which is found in the iPhone 4s. Not only is the A6 incredibly fast but it is also specifically designed to be very battery efficient.
On top of having the A6 processor, this new iPhone now runs on the fastest
data network out right now, 4G LTE. 4G LTE is roughly twice as fast as 3G giving you download speeds of 100 mbps (megabytes per second), compared to 3G which is roughly 32 mbps. It is noticeably faster and it is designed for optimal battery life. However, 4G LTE is currently not as widespread and is only available in certain areas depending on the carrier. Verizon currently has 4G LTE in the most cities, followed by AT&T, and Sprint.
I only have two disgruntlements about the phone: the new “Lightning” dock
and the Apple Maps system. After 10 years of using the same dock Apple
finally created a new one known as “Lightning”. This left many former Apple iPhone and iPod accessories in the past such as iHomes and car chargers, requiring owners of those devices to buy a $30 “Lightning” to 30 pin adapter. The bright side of the new dock is that it is much smaller and durable. Apple Maps is a whole different story. Frankly, it stinks. The system is incredibly inaccurate and flawed. I tested out the system the first day I got my phone and had it take me from my house to my friend’s house. It took me six blocks away from his house. Apple really needs to improve their Apple Maps system. The one they released seems like it should be a beta, not the final version. One the bright side, Apple is constantly working on improving Apple Maps and it is all server-sided–meaning no updates on the user side are required. Overall, I recommend this phone. Apple really designed a great device. Several improvements that Apple fans have been demanding are finally in this new iPhone and it is worth giving it a shot. It is a huge step up from the iPhone 4.
