Mr. Carioto’s music classes will travel to the Cadillac Theatre in Chicago on Feb. 26 to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.

“I hope that my students will understand the structure of how a musical is put together, and the power of the storyline and music,” Mr. Rocco Carioto, music and band teacher, said. “I hope it will inspire band and theatre students to pursue their dreams.”

Mr. Carioto wanted to take a trip to this opera because he is returning to Chicago and one of the greatest opera’s known to man. This play combines broadway aspects and operatic aspects together. The band just recently performed songs from this and Mr. Carioto’s music appreciation classes are studying opera and theatre. The Phantom of the Opera is performed every hour on a continent every day.
