Harry Potter fans can finally rejoice: ‘Fantastic Beasts’ opens up this month

Harry Potter fans everywhere are anxiously waiting for the Harry Potter series prequel, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” to finally be released in theaters next month. The movie, which will be the first in a series of five, centers around magizoologist Newt Scamander, a familiar name to well read Harry Potter fans, who comes to New York where some of his “fantastic beasts” get loose in the city.

Harry Potter fans are excited for this film’s release as it is a new look at the wizarding world since author J.K. Rowling’s supposed final film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” came out in 2011. Since then Rowling seemed firm in her decision that the “Harry Potter” era was finished. That was until last year, when it was announced that Rowling had written a screenplay for one of her other “Harry Potter” related books “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, which is a textbook used by Harry Potter and his classmates in the series. Since then, Rowling has come out with a play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” which is a continuation of Harry’s story, and now “Fantastic Beasts” will be gracing movie screens with a look at the wizarding world before Harry’s time.

Harry Potter fan, senior Frank Calzonzi is one of the many loyal fans that is excited to see how “Fantastic Beasts” is brought to life. “In the movie, I am looking forward for the creatures to be brought to life visually. [For] The creatures to stay true the actual textbook Harry had to read,” he said. “ There are rumors that Hagrid will make an appearance which I think will be neat. I hope that movie stays true to the creatures and that the movie connects to the Harry Potter story.”

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” will be in theaters Friday, Nov. 18th.
