Tri-County Art Exhibit

As the 2020-2021 school year comes to an end, there is still opportunity for artistic students in junior high and high school alike to showcase their talents at the 47th Annual Tri-County Art Exhibition.

The counties involved in the exhibition are Lake, Porter, La Porte and South Suburban Cook county. “Bishop Noll used to participate years ago,” said Ms. Gwiazda. “Not sure why they stopped, but this is our second year in a row participating.”

Some of the exhibits that are shown are 2-D and 3-D art. These can include paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and digital art as well. Students who exemplify outstanding technique will be given the opportunity to potentially receive scholarships for fine arts for displaying their Art Portfolio, their best artworks throughout their high school career.

This will be an opportunity for students who could not display any of their work during the pandemic to showcase their talent. “Art creation benefits students greatly,” said Ms. Gwiazda. “It encourages critical thinking because it prompts others to solve visual problems and allows them to build skills.”
