From traditional Polish food like potato and cheese pierogies to pizzarogi and alligator, Pierogi fest has something for all taste buds. 

The 2023 annual Pierogi fest will be held at Whiting, Indiana from Friday, July 28th through Sunday, July 30th. 

 

According to the Whiting Pierogi Festival’s official website, this year’s fest will include live music, contests, a cooking show, a magic show, dance performances and parades. This year’s live music performances include Ron Smolen Poka Band, the Muddsharks and Jessi and The Fizz. The dance performances will include the Polonia Polish Folk Song & Dance Ensemble and the Nomad Planets. There will also be special guests at the Pop Up Stage such as Ron Barany and Mario Zavala. 

 

The festival will start on July 28th from 11am-11pm. According to the scheduled events posted on the festivals official website, the first scheduled event is Ron Smolen Polka Band at 12pm followed by the EZ Tones on the Sheridan stage. The final events of the first night will be the 1985 Band and the Disco Circus. On Saturday, July 29th, the festival will go from 11:00am-11pm. Scheduled events will consist of the Buscia Cooking Show from 11a.m-12pm and the Hoosier Strings from 12pm-2p.m. For those not interested in music, there will be a magician show by Steve Kellog from 12pm-2pm. The night will end off with Big Dog Mercer from 8:00 to 10:00pm and Smash Mouth from 8:30pm-close.

 

The last day of the festival will be held from 11am-5pm. The first scheduled event is the VonCrapp Family Singers at 12-2pm followed by the Polonia Polish Folk Song and Dance Ensemble on the Oliver Stage from 1pm-3pm. The final events for the last day are the 45RPM from 2pm-4pm, the Saturday June Band from 3pm to 5pm and the Fifty-One Lincoln Band from 2pm-5pm. For those interested in participating in an eating contest, the Pierogi Toss and Pierogi Eating Contests will take place from 3:30-close. There will be no pop up guests on this night.
