During Lent every year Bishop Noll hosts their annual fish fries. They are held on Fridays in accordance with the tradition that Catholics do not eat meat on Fridays. They help fund various clubs and sports at the school.
The fish fry dates are February 27, March 13, and March 20. They are held in the Bishop Noll Cafeteria and are run by the sport or club that is benefiting from that particular fish fry. The prices per dinner vary depending on what kind of fish you want. For a Pollock Dinner, $8.00, a Ocean Perch dinner $9.00, a shrimp Dinner $11.00, and for a Mixed Platter which includes all three types of fish is also $11.00. All dinner prices include a Salad bar, desserts, and a drink.
According to parent club sponsor, Anna Howard, all the money made is split between all teams/clubs that are involved. An average fish fry can bring in over $1200.00 gross, the only thing this money pays for other than what the clubs use it for is the fish, all other items are donated by that club or team.
