Your pet is your best friend, the one person to greet you at the door every day when you get home from school and work. You could never imagine kicking your pet or drowning them, could you? Then how can other people do it? Are they crazy, or do they get joy out of seeing an animal in pain?
Kicking your dog or cat isn’t the only thing classified as abuse. Puppy mills are also abuse. No one wants to be locked in a tiny hot cage and forced to have babies over and over again, and not even able to spend time with them before they’re ripped from your paws to be sold at some crappy pet store. All over the world animals are abused daily. For example, in California at Lake Elsinore Exotic Animal Shelter, two men had tortured well over 15,500 animals. Some of the animals were nothing but bones, wasting away to nothing, because the men had refused to feed them. They were suffering from the men beating them on tables, smashing their tiny bones. When PETA discovered these poor animals, it was far too late for most of them. They had been living in their own filth, drowning in it, but these men could only laugh at the misery of these poor defenseless animals. The animals relied on them to take care of them, but instead, the men betrayed their trust.
