Coach Jara-Patrick has been a part of the Bishop Noll family for years now. After graduating from Bishop Noll Institute in 2001, Mrs. Jara-Pastrick went on to attend Indiana University, majoring in elementary with a minor in health. Mrs. Pastrick came back to Bishop Noll as a coach in 2006. In 2007, she became a teacher. It’s been almost ten years since her high school graduation, and she maintains that she loves being at Noll just as much as she did when she was a student.
In 2009, she was married to her high school sweetheart, Mike Pastrick. Since then, she has been hard at work at Noll and is now pursuing her master’s degree. However, things have been difference since she announced her pregnancy last spring. Mrs. Pastrick and her husband are planning on naming their baby with the initials M.V.P.
Initially, they had not planned on carefully planning their baby’s iniitals; however, her sister-in-law jokingly mentioned how ironic it would be for Noll’s Class of 2001’s “Most Athletic Girl” to have an “MVP” baby. “I fell in love with the idea,” Mrs. Pastrick said. “However, we’re currently still looking for a V name to complete the title. It’s more difficult than we thought!”
When asked how her pregnancy has affected her everyday life, Mr.s Pastrick said that “during work in my prep periods, I am used to getting more work done and constantly walking around the school. Now, I find myself needing time to st down and put my feet up. During soccer practices in the summer, I often had to stop coaching and sit in the shade because of the heat.”
Pastrick stresses the importance of physical activity in her daughter’s life. Though she’s always been a competitive athlete herself, she says that it does not matter what sports or activities her daughter is involved in. “I don’t care if she plays soccer, volleyball, dances, or plays in the marching band. I just want her to stay active, have a good time, and love what she does.”
“My soccer girls have been with me through major events in my life: my proposal and marriage, and now, my pregnancy. I hope that they have experienced a fraction of what I’ve experienced with them. It’s a beautiful thing,” says Pastrick.
Mrs. Pastrick thank everyone in the Bishop Noll community for the gifts, support, and well wishes during their pregnancy. She would also like to give a special thanks to her advisory and soccer team for the surprise shower. The Bishop Noll community is extremely excited to have a new addition to the family. Congratulations Mrs. Pastrick, from the entire Bishop Noll family!
