This past weekend, Bishop Noll 1983 alumni Rich Sobilo was announced as the new Noll head softball coach. He will be taking the position from former head coach Ralph Laramie. Sobilo was a hockey player for the University of Notre Dame before coaching Noll’s hockey team from 1988 to 2002. He led the team to a Class 2A state runner-up title. Prior to coaching hockey, Sobilo coached eight years of Youth, All Star and Travel softball. He has a positive outlook on this upcoming season due to the amount of returning players. One of the returning senior players includes his daughter, Elena Sobilo.
“I would say we have two simply-stated, but powerful goals. One is to improve every day and the other is to develop an unselfish, vibrant team” said, Sobilo.
