The season we’ve all been waiting for, and probably the most competitive in Northwest Indiana, is basketball. The Bishop Noll Warriors are hitting the court, and getting ready for the season. Their first scrimmage is against Munster High School in early November. Even though this is only going to be a scrimmage, it will be a game to watch.
“I don’t have any predictions for the Munster scrimmage. That scrimmage will have less to do with how we perform from a points standpoint, and more to do how well the kids adapt to anything new we are doing this year,” said head coach Josh Belluomini.
There are some key games this year for the Warriors. They have Valpo, Michigan City, and Highland all on the schedule this year. Although these teams are very good, Coach Belluomini has some other teams in mind.
“I have Merrillville and Marquette Catholic circled, and also of course we look forward to playing EC Central and Andrean because of the rivalries,” he said.
As a new coach taking on a new system, Coach Belluomini will have to face a few challenges. .
“My toughest challenge will be a lot of off the court stuff, and making sure everything is organized and running smoothly,” he said.
Anything can happen this year as the Warriors will hope for one more state run. With a senior-heavy team this year, the expectations will be even higher.
