The boys soccer team has a record of 3-3-1, a conference record of 2-0, and is ranked third in the area. Their success was partially due to the acquisition of two new freshman varsity players, Alexander Romo and Sergio Marquez.
“We just need to continue winning our games to keep moving up in rankings, we need to play our game and all will show on the field,” said senior Jonathan Lozano.
New players like Alfonso Soto and Sergio Marquez have helped the warriors tremendously.
“Movement on and off the ball is going to be key to our success”, said sophomore Alfonso Soto.
The Warriors will have competition this season.
“Every game is important this year, with every game we must gain something. We have to get better each game,” Soto said.
Even after losing key players to graduation like Aaron Garza and Chandler Cardenas (‘14), the team believes they are adjusting pretty well.
“Aaron Garza (’14) was a good soccer player, but his graduation didn’t affect us much, since a lot of players stepped up to fill in his spot and keep us going. We still continued to be a great team and with keeping up the good work. I’m positive this year’s team will be better than last year’s,” said senior Jonathan Lozano.
