The 2014 USA Men’s Basketball World Cup Team looks very promising with the list of stars selected to be on the roster. Many are excited as the play of Derrick Rose has been witnessed in the pre FIBA games in New York and Spain. The USA team breezed through the prerequisite games against the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Slovenia. The team’s chemistry seems very evident as the men are defeating their opponents by 20 and 30 points each game so far.
There have been three recent withdrawals from the team that haven’t seemed to affect the team as much as expected. Shooting guard and small forward Paul George was forced to withdraw from the roster after breaking his leg in a prerequisite game Blue vs. White. Power forward and small forward Kevin Durant also withdrew to take time away due to physical and mental fatigue. Power forward and center Kevin Love withdrew due to his current status of being traded and did not want to bring the wrong type of attention to the team. The USA Basketball team is looking very well as they are 4-0 in the games played. The previous 2012 USA Men’s Basketball team went all the way and won the gold. This year’s team has set the same goal and is striving for the best. This goal was accomplished as the USA Men’s Basketball took the gold in Spain.
