With four strong veteran wrestlers and two new female wrestlers, this wrestling season will bring a lot of talent, according to Junior Daniel Cuevas.
Although there are challenges the team must overcome, there are many goals set for this season. With their determination and teamwork, they have faith in what this season will bring.
“I’m looking forward to the growth of all my teammates since the pace of the practices have really picked up this season. I especially look forward to seeing better results from the more experienced wrestlers like Torre Flournoy or Christian Castillo”, said Junior Daniel Cuevas.
Coming in fourth out of five matches in the tournament with a win against Boone Grove, the Warriors are determined to continue to grow throughout the season. Making their current record of 1-5.
Despite the loss of Jesus Loe, Daniel Cuevas strongly believes he and his team have great potential to advance in the State tournament.
“We’re mentally prepared and emotionally pumped to go against any obstacle that stands in our way of being down there at semi-state, or even state,” he said.
