Despite their conference championship loss to Hanover Central, the Lady Warriors volleyball team still has their eye on what counts: advancing in the postseason.

The girls volleyball team is ending their regular season with a record of 30 wins and only 4 losses. The Lady Warriors have shown to be a team with a lot of potential with a very strong roster. Senior, Brittany Anderson and Junior Bella Kuechenberg were the captains this year; but do not take all the credit for this year’s impressive season.

“Everyone pretty much stepped up in their own way to help lead the team,” said captain Brittany Anderson when asked who lead the team this year.

The goal this year for the team this is to make it all the way back to state for the second time in the last 4 years. This year the team has a fighting chance having an impressive record within their conference combined with a determination for victory. In order to reach this goal, the team planned on using every regular season game as practice for postseason.

“I think that we have potential to make it all the way to state. However, I challenged my team and myself to only take it one game at a time,” said Anderson.

The team itself has grown a lot as a family and enjoy playing with each other. This close knit bond mixed with the intense drive for success has shown this year to be a reason for their success. With the defeat of very tough competition such as Lake Central and Munster, the lady warriors are very confident in their season and hope to continue on a good note during sectionals.

The team’s confidence and hard work led to the outcome they were hoping for with their fourth sectional victory. The Lady Warriors defeated Lake station in Boone Grove on October 22nd, and are looking forward to their regional match ups.

“Sectionals was filled with loud cheering and positive vibes from everyone. We have great team chemistry and work together extremely well. I am so excited to continue this postseason with such an amazing group of girls,” said Anderson when asked about postseason.
