Bishop Noll’s Dance Team received a new head coach this 2017-2018 season, after the resignation of the previous coach this past summer.

With all her years of experience with dance, teaching and coaching, Amanda Butler is a perfect match as a new coach.

Butler says, “I have been dancing and training since the age of 3 at various studios. I was on the middle school dance team and freshman year I made varsity. I have coached for 2 years but have taught dance for over 10 years.”

Butler is looking to introduce the team to new tactics to help pursue their talent at competitions and state. The team has always done a pom, hip hop performance along with and small jazz ensemble. However, under new supervision Butler is interested in introducing the team to contemporary.

“I think we have a very talented group of girls and I believe this would be a great genre for the team to explore,” she says.

There will be many surprises in store for this year’s dance season.

Fresh and new routines are always appreciated but the additions don’t stop there. The dance team is proud to announce that they will be performing at all home football games this year. The dance team will definitely be putting in all kinds of hard work and dedication because their season doesn’t end there. The dance team will still be performing half time at all home basketball games and will never repeat the same routine twice, according to Butler. Butler is really looking to push these girls to their true potential and give them all kinds of floor time to improve the team’s confidence in performing this season.
