  On October 17, Bishop Noll took on West Lafayette in the Mishawaka Marian Regional Championship Final.

“I wasn’t nervous .My thought was how the other team is going to come after us and how are we going to handle it.” Warrior’s coach Garza said.

It was a tough game for both sides. Each team fought as hard as they could. Both sides seem to be equally matched. But,

The Warriors scored a goal with three minutes left, to win their first regional title since 1998.

During the game, with only 19 seconds left, West Lafayette had a free kick. And that put a lot of pressure on the warriors. Luckily for them, West Lafayette missed their free kick.

Coach Garza said, “The last 19 seconds was ridiculous when the ref stopped the clock, let everyone setup and the player that was going to take the kick, tie his shoes and not have to worry about time because it was stopped for him to prepare.”

Garza explained how that even though there isn’t a lot of vocal leadership,the kids still feed off of their captains.

He says, “Everyone has accepted their roles and doing what their suppose to. And as coaching goes it’s a matter of reminding the team when we start losing the focus of what is requirekhd on the field.”

It was the best moment of the coaches and players lives. They did something the school wasn’t able to do in decades.

The players played as hard as they could and they got what they truly deserved.

The warriors coach had so much confidence with his team, he feels that his boys will defend and take away the opportunity.

“It’ll be sweet to show the state the type of players Bishop Noll has!” He said

When we asked coach Garza what’s gonna help him and his team keep pushing forward and get the next win, he said;

“What’s going to help us win state is for us to continue doing what we’re doing that got us this far!”

Unfortunately, the Warriors fell to Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran saturday to a 1-0 game. The game was pretty even, as both teams had many chances. However, Concordia were the one who came out on top with very fortunate goal around 30 yards from the goal.

Although bishop noll lost at semi state, they proved to the state what they can do. They have been tough competition for any team that they have faced through their amazing season.
