The freshman English class will travel to the Shakespeare Theatre on Navy Pier in early March to see Romeo and Juliet. They will begin studying the works and life of William Shakespeare next semester, and will focus mostly on Romeo and Juliet. The 75 minute adaptation is directed and adapted by Rachel Rockwell and features a post-show discussion with the cast and crew about the play that gets the whole audience involved. Rockwell has directed plays and musicals alike, such as The Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd, and Hair. The play focuses on bringing Shakespeare’s beloved story to life in a family atmosphere. The class is very excited to see the play.
