On the Oct. 23 Jeans Day, the Student Council is having a “Wear Pink” Day to help bring awareness about Breast Cancer, according to student council sponsor, Mr. Kevin Burgun. The Jeans Day will cost $2 for students, but half of the proceeds will go to a breast cancer awareness foundation and the other half will go to the student council.
The purpose of this day is to bring about more awareness about this cancer and how severe it really is. According to cancer.org, around 39,620 women will die from breast cancer and about 232,340 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women. Any help that we can give towards this cause could help save millions of lives and change the fight against cancer completely. The official rules and details for what is allowed to be worn should be given to the student body by Oct. 16.
