Some teenage girls spend their free time shopping for makeup, admiring their role models on the cover of magazines, and fangirling over pop boy band sensations. But sophomore Marianna Gomez is into something you don’t see girls doing on the regular. Marianna shows off her talent on the concrete grounds of skate parks.
Marianna has been a BMX biker for three years. Gomez says she wanted to adventure into something you never really saw girls participating in. In the male dominated sport, Marianna has been the only girl to compete in the contests in her community.
“Seeing other people doing better than me only pushes me to do better and be like them,” Gomez says.
Marianna’s hair and style changes based on her mood. You may have seen her around school sporting bright red orange bangs, or maybe even extremely layered shoulder length pitch black hair.
Her music tastes range from heavy metal to country. With her favorite death metal band being Suicide Silence and her favorite country band is Nickelback.
“The music I listen to hypes me up when I ride or skate,” Gomez says.
With her stretched lobes and fierce colored eye contacts, Marianna is definitely a different face in Bishop Noll.
