After canceling the Jan. 27 blood drive due to a school closing, the NHS has rescheduled the winter blood drive for Feb. 24.
Mr. Barrett Laspesa, NHS sponsor, contacted the Heartland Blood Center and was able to schedule another date before the April 29 drive so that seniors who want a blood drive cord at graduation may be able to donate enough blood during the school year to receive one.
“Heartland requests that we have three blood drives throughout the year, but regulations require that they be spread out at least 8 weeks at a time,” Laspesa said. “I’m assuming this is for medical reasons.”
BNI has a goal of sixty-two units of blood per blood drive.
