The Envirothon team has started to prepare for the upcoming competition this spring with hopes of repeating last year’s success. Last year, the Envirothon team made it all the way to State.
This year’s team is expecting to make it to State and try to place first in the Envirothon.
“I had very motivated students last year and should have the same level of intensity that was enjoyed last year. I even have a student from last year returning to help coach this year’s team,” said Envirothon sponsor Ms. Rosalie Schmidt.
This year’s theme for the envirothon is sustainable agriculture/locally grown, which is an issue that affects everyone.
“It is very important given the current price of gas and the tremendous distances that our food travels before we eat it; we should all try to live sustainably,” Schmidt said.
