The boy’s tennis team is eager about achieving another sectionals title this year after last year’s victory.

Bishop Noll’s boys tennis is back and hungry for another sectionals title. Captain Adriel Gonzalez, senior,is very optimistic about this year’s season and believes that he and his team have the ability to make it back to sectionals and win a second consecutive title. Gonzalez is himself a returning player and a key player to watch this season. Gonzalez believes that with the help of new additions to the team along with the returning players, the team has the ability to make it further past sectionals this year.

“I expect to win sectionals since we have a full returning team plus some new additions who add depth to our team,” he said.

Gonzalez goes on to explain that the team had good practice habits. The team practices hard and focused throughout the year aiming together for their one goal: sectionals. This year, the team set the goal above the bar hoping to make it to at least regionals and to win regionals for the first time. The way that the team believes to reach their goal is to keep practicing the way they are and to stay working hard all season.

The players  to watch this season are seniors Fabian Duran, Alex Sobilo, Alec Hewlett, and junior Chris Gordon. Almost all of these players are returning with a strong history of winning on the team. Although all of the players to watch are upperclassmen, senior Alec Hewlett is new addition to the team that adds a new optimistic layer.

“He adds energy and motivation to the team,” said Gonzalez when speaking on Hewlett’s abilities.

This year the boy’s tennis team is a team to watch. Both the team and coaches are excited to see what this new season will bring and hope the accomplish what they have been working towards.
