The Bishop Noll Drama Club is hosting karaoke Thursday night in the auditorium. These nights are filled with fun performances by students and are also COVID-19 friendly .

Mrs. Kayla Konkle, theatre director, wanted to provide a safe, socially distant opportunity for students to still get together and enjoy each other’s camaraderie.

says “The idea of doing Karaoke Nights was one that the Drama Club Board Members came up with as we have been meeting this year to think of fun and safe ways to still connect with our friends and experience performances,” Konkle said. “We have been brainstorming a ton of different ideas and Karaoke seemed like a fun way to get people involved.”

With all the limitations because of COVID, the karaoke nights are a way to have fun and let off the stress of everything.

Junior Abby Wojtaszek, co- president of the drama club acts as host of the events.

Karaoke just helps me relax,” she said. “It’s fun to get together with friends and be silly after months of having to stay at home.”

AlLthough only one karaoke night has been held this year. Mrs. Konkle plans on planning more events after the auditions for the upcoming play “Clue.”

For freshmen looking to get involved in the school, like Indigo Moore, Karaoke Nights provide a judgment-free opportunity to meet other students.

“When we do karaoke, no one is made fun of,” Moore said.“We all have laughs, and chill. There’s no high stakes.”
