The Bishop Noll Band marched in the 2014 Columbus Day Parade, playing “Oh, What a Night” from Jersey Boys and bringing home the Esprits de Corps award.
Fifty band students including the flag corps and majorettes performed in Chicago.
“The band got involved [in parades] because it gives the band a chance to be highlighted in a competition setting. Bishop Noll is known for its reputation, so the band is a part of that reptation and showing off all the students’ talents and abilities,” said band director Mr. Rocco Carioto.
The band will march next in the Chicago Thanksgiving Day parade on Nov. 27. They are one of 30 marching bands that were selected to march by the parade committee.
