Crimson Peak: Hottest Hits of Halloween

Crimson Peak focuses around an aspiring writer (Mia Wasikowski, Alice in Alice in Wonderland) who in the aftermath of a family tragedy, is torn between her love for a childhood friend (Charlie Hunnam, Sons of Anarchy) and a new outsider (Tom Hiddleston, Loki in Thor, The Avengers) who holds many dark secrets inside him. Trying to leave her ghosts behind, she makes a run for a house that lives and breathes, and most of all, remembers.

Crimson Peak, directed by Guillermo del Toro, keeps watchers on their toes. While the movie was not necessarily scary in the “blood-and-gore” sense, it kept me waiting for the next piece of the plot to come together, however, knowing what del Toro’s movies are like, the end wasn’t quite what I expected.

Crimson Peak mashes together the eerie qualities of early 18th-century Neo-Gothic style and hints of more modern elements, giving viewers an interesting look into the time period and the lure that is Crimson Peak.

  Crimson Peak is playing at  AMC Showplace Schererville 16 – 6:30pm, 8:00pm, 9:30pm, 11:00pm.
