Bishop Noll will be hosting an outdoor movie night celebration in recognition of Founder’s Day and its 100th anniversary on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 8 p.m-10pm. The event for students is free, and goodie bags and other surprises will be distributed to the student attendees.

“Founder’s Day really is the birth of BNI as you know it,” said principal Mrs. Lorenza Pastrick. “Just like when all of us were born, it is a joyous event for our friends and family and day to celebrate our groundbreaking entrance into Northwest Indiana.”

As a student, Noll parent, and educator since the ‘70s senior theology teacher Ms. Lydia Skurka has been a part of the Noll community for five decades and has witnessed the changes to the school and its vitality to withstand them all. “I am very grateful to have attended BNI. A lot has changed over the years, but the main focus of this school has always been Jesus Christ. Bishop Noll is the hands, feet and mouth of Christ,” Skurka said.

“Being able to go to a school that has stood the strength of time makes me grateful,” said junior Aaliyah Crawford.“Bishop Noll does its best to keep up with the latest technology, so that makes it a great place.”

Although Tuesday’s movie choice has not yet been announced, Pastrick said it will be a surprise based on the results from a student poll. Mr. Kevin Burgun, student council sponsor, along with the student council mentioned focusing on the year as a birthday,” she said. This event is no different…Food, Friends, Fellowship, and a special surprise

Pastrick got student spirits up in preparation for Founder’s Day on Friday, Sept. 11 during lunch when she treated them to a live petting zoo and ice cream.
