The boys basketball team is entering preseason workouts with a full roster of players, a stark difference from last year’s season that left many key players at home with virtual learning. According to head boys varsity basketball coach John Dodson, the team hopes to cut down some nets this season.
There isn’t a set date for tryouts but they’ll be in early November. If you’re looking to join the team be on the lookout because Dodson will get out a set date as early as possible. Their two leading scorers, senior Ahmad Artis and freshman Angel Alvarez will be returning for this new season.
“I overcame breaking my wrist the first game of the season my junior year, which was tough, but it gave me the push I needed to recover and work harder than before,” said senior captain Ahmad Artis.
After this reconstruction season, their roster will consist of players returning from football and soccer.
“We’re really excited to return our whole core and the guys have put in a lot of work this off season. We hope to make games exciting to watch and hopefully get the support of the BNI community at the games. Noll basketball over the years has been synonymous with winning and we want to bring that culture back,” Dodson said.
