Boys golf coach Dennis Kolibowski passes away

The boys golf coach Dennis R. Koliboski passed away in his Schererville home on  February 23, 2016 at age 56. As the head boys golf coach, Koliboski was set to retire after 12 years at Noll.

Koliboski, a native of East Chicago, was well known and loved by many, leaving behind a daughter (Danielle) and granddaughter (Isla) as well as many Bishop Noll student athletes.

Dennis was a really nice person. He was always kind to all of us and the players on the other teams,” said senior golfer Steven Matura.

Matura says that Koliboski was his coach since his sophomore year.

“My best and funniest memory of Dennis was in a match against Whiting High. We were on hole #5 and Dennis came up to watch my tee shot and I hacked the ball straight into the water. I turned to look at him and he said, I swear next year I’m retiring’.”

“We hope to win a few matches in memory of Dennis,” Matura said.
