Catholic Schools Week rescheduled to week in March

An unexpected Polar Vortex that hit the Midwest and Northeast caused many Catholic schools to cancel their national event, Catholic Schools Week. Nearly all of the Diocese of Gary’s Catholic schools, including Bishop Noll, had to cancel some or all of their 5 days of Catholic Schools Week events due to the severe climate.

Bishop Noll has said that all student events will be rescheduled, but the dates have not yet been set.

“We are working on rescheduling a majority of the events for Catholic Schools Week, hopefully sometime in March. Official dates will be announced soon,” said Miss Stacia Bolakowski, campus ministry director. “Unfortunately, the large Mass with Bishop Hying and our seven local Catholic elementary schools is not being rescheduled at this time due to the Bishop’s schedule.”

Bishop Noll students will still celebrate Student Appreciation Day with a movie, music, and games; the teachers will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day with a breakfast and lunch; and the entire school community will celebrate service and vocation during the course of the week.
